We have had a few colors of this pretty yarn for a bit, but our selection has recently been nicely rounded out, as long as you consider blue, red, and shades of black and brown nicely rounded out.
The Navia Faroese Sock Yarn is a worsted weight wool with 20% nylon for durability. It's machine washable, too! I love that it looks more like a rustic yarn and less like a superwash. I would totally use this for some cozy house socks like Lumberjack from tincanknits or Hugni from Ysolda Teague. It would be great for mittens or gloves or hats or sweater, too. If you love these colors, come on in and take a peek in person.

Eye Candy
Look at these pretty new colorways from Knitted Wit! These two are called Dancing Queen and Mammoth Caves. This sock yarn is so squishy and durable and vibrant. I can definitely recommend.

Farmer's Daughter Restock
Our latest restock from Farmer's Daughter Fibers in Montana is full of some lovely yarns.
The Craggy Tweed is always a wonderful treat. I didn't really understand this yarn until I saw it knitted up. Take a look at all of these Swonchos knit up in Craggy. It's also really nice in a single shade of good ol' stockinette.
The Soka'pii is such a nice rustic single ply.
There are plenty of multi-colored projects on Ravelry, but I really love this sweet little Cape Perpetua Shawl in this rich caramel color.
And the sock yarns are just so beautiful!
I love seeing these Farmer's Daughters yarns on the shelves. Come on in and see these beauties for yourself!

Kelbourne Perennial
If you need a neon pink fingering yarn, we have you covered. The Kelbourne Woolens Perennial is a really vibrant superwash merino/alpaca blend with just enough nylon to give it some strength. Between the nylon and the superwash, you can make some really cool socks with this stuff! Maybe some mustard yellow and hot pink stripes?
If it's not socks you're after, there are so many other options. I love the delicate colorwork on this Stonecrop Pullover.

How about this Soldotna Crop?

I've been longing for an Oslo Hat. You'd need to hold the Perennial with some silk mohair for that magical halo. Do I need a hot pink one or a more subtle one like this pretty hat?

I think we should all make one. Which color do you like best?

Merino Yak
This rich and pretty raspberry Merino Yak sock yarn needs to be in my sock yarn stash. This yarn is so sophisticated and fancy. I love the grey and greens and blues, too.
This yarn is great for socks, but I'm also finding some other lovely things on Ravelry, too. The colors play so nicely together.
Now that I've seen all of these lovely projects, I need to go back to the shop and take some of this Merino Yak home with me.

The newest shades of Cascade Heritage Paints are so pretty! These are 437 yards of superwash wool and nylon, perfect for socks and just about anything else. I'm loving the handpainted look of these new colorways.

Knitted Wit's National Parks and a Sock-A-Long
The National Parks line in Knitted Wit Sock is making the shelves so bright and cheerful! Look at these crazy fun color combos, all inspired by a different national parks.
I am a bit obsessed with this one inspired by Haleakala National Park in Hawaii, and I can't decide if it's the weirdest or most beautiful sock yarn ever. Maybe it's both, but it definitely says Hawaii.
If these yarns are your jam, consider playing along with the Socks on Vacay 2019 kint-a-long. To participate, you need to knit socks with one of the designs from the KAL using the National Parks sock yarns before September 2, 2019. You can enter your socks on social media using the hashtag #socksonvacay to win some cool prizes! There is more info on their website and on the cards we have in the shop.
Yay for colorful summer socks!

Qing Fibre Merino Fingering
The speckles on these are also bringing me joy. I hope they do the same for you all!

Hue Loco
Say hello to some beautiful hand-dyed yarn from Colorado! This Hue Loco Merino Sock yarn is soft and vibrant with some ridiculously rich colors. Just look at this indigo.
These pretty skeins are 400 yards of superwash merino...just the thing for pretty much anything. (Maybe the 2019 Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery KAL and CAL?)
Those speckled ones are definitely catching my eye, especially that pinky purple one. And that orange one. And the yellow one up above. These are dangerous.

Uneek
Look at this super cool new sock yarn!
Uneek Fingering from Urth Yarns is one of the most unusual sock yarns I've seen. It's 435 yards of machine washable merino, and the colors are so vibrant. We asked the Side Hustle Socksters to crank out a sock tube for us to see how it works up, and take a look at this!
We thought they had alternated skeins or something crazy, but this is just what the yarn does. Each colorway works up a little differently, but it looks like they all have semi-solid stripes (which slowly change over the course of the yarn) paired with a mutli-colored gradient situation happening in the background.
Their website gives you a good idea of what to expect form each colorway, but I doubt you'll be disappointed. Stop in and choose your favorite!

Swan's Island Sterling Fingering
This Sterling Fingering yarn from Swan's Island is sort of breathtaking. It's 85% merino, which is luxurious and lustrous, and 15% naturally black alpaca, which gives it a smokey look. Take a look at these shades.
The jewel tones all play really nicely together. I love the Zara Hat and Mitts Set, and I think you can make three whole sets with three colors of yarn.
Look at the Newbury Scarf. Five colors and so much drapey scarf goodness.
I really love the muted color palette and stylish patterns they've developed for this yarn, and the dark undertones are really appealing. I think I might need some of this for a hat sooner than later. Time to chose my favorite color!

Side Hustle Socks
On Friday, November 30, Close Knit will host the Side Hustle
Socksters for a sock machine party!
For $20, you can have a skein of sock yarn cranked into a stockinette stitch tube, ready for you to knit afterthought heels, toes, and cuffs. This will speed up holiday gift knitting (or selfish chilly weather knitting) while still allowing you the fun of knitting with some lovely sock yarn.

With your yarn cranking, the Socksters will include their own pattern for afterthought toes and heels (with a great trick to
avoid holes when picking up stitches for the heel), including a photo
tutorial.
Close
Knit will be open for shopping and sock cranking from 5-8 PM. Priority
for on-the-spot cranking will be given to yarn purchased at Close Knit
that evening, but you can also bring your own sock yarn to be cranked
later in the week and picked up. There will even be a discount on sock yarn during the party!
Emily will be offering a class on after-thought toes and heels in December in case you'd like some guidance as you finish those tubes into socks!
