We have SO MANY lovely hand-dyed yarns in the shop. Sometimes I just wander around and hold them and admire their beauty. Apparently I was on a pink kick this week.
I have been picking up this skein of pink Willow Sock from Farmer's Daughter Fibers for so long. I am not normally drawn to pink, but this one really gets me. I love it all clustered together with its pastel friends here.
This lustrous skein of sock yarn from Spun Right Round is really something, eh? It's a little vampire slayer, don't you think?
This Spun Right Round Sport Sock is such a cool combo of white and neon and speckles. This colorway is called Nervous Breakdown, which seems pretty appropriate this time of year.
We are so lucky to have such a variety of hand-dyed sock yarns to inspire us with their beautiful colors!

These skeins are 281 yards of some of the wackiest colors I have seen on yarn in awhile. And all super soft and machine washable, too.
I am now 100% sure I need a new hat or a wrap or something that will give me an excuse to take one of these home with me...especially that black and white one.
I'm on a color kick this week, apparently. Forgive me...it is very grey outside. While I love the rain and winter, a little pop of color always helps. The Merino Fingering from Qing Fibre is really doing my brain some good, even if I am feeling most drawn to the dark green on the left above.
The speckles on these are also bringing me joy. I hope they do the same for you all!
We currently have some crazy amazing color from Qing Fibre. How about this Melted Baby Suri? Oh my goodness, it is lusciously soft.
Say hello to some beautiful hand-dyed yarn from Colorado! This Hue Loco Merino Sock yarn is soft and vibrant with some ridiculously rich colors. Just look at this indigo.
These pretty skeins are 400 yards of superwash merino...just the thing for pretty much anything. (Maybe the 2019 Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery KAL and CAL?)
Those speckled ones are definitely catching my eye, especially that pinky purple one. And that orange one. And the yellow one up above. These are dangerous.
Sometimes the hand-dyes are so bright and beautiful, they are hard to look at in a big group. So here are a few lovely shades of our recent batch of Farmer's Daughter Fibers.
This is Waylon and Willie in the Juicy DK, a superwash 100% merino.
Here we have Half Breed in the Foxy Lady, a merino/silk single-ply superwash.
And finally, Heartbreak Hotel on the Squish Worsted, another superwash 100% merino.

I was lucky enough to spend a few days at the Oregon coast this week, knitting in the sun, the wind, and the rain. I'm using Victory Sock in the Prendre Le Coeur colorway, part of the Herstory line from Knitted Wit.
I made a little progress during my brief getaway. Anyone have any guesses what I'm making? Does this double-decreased corner give me away?

Look at this color explosion form Lichen and Lace. This basket of single-ply is clearly ready for spring. Not a bad color in here, my friends. This
superwash single-ply would be amazing for shawls, scarves, and wraps.
I'm thinking about using it for a baby sweater, too. So sweet and silky
soft.
These
baskets of beauty always remind me how much love and effort goes into
hand-dying yarn. You can really see how much these craftspeople care
about their work. Stop in and ogle the pretty new yarn!
Have you all jumped on the fade bandwagon? You can fade hats, shawls (so many shawls), sweaters (for kids and grown ups)...so many possibilities. Basically, you choose a range of yarns that all play nicely together and knit them into something that makes you happy.
This seems to work really nicely with hand-dyed yarns. Lucky you! We

Look at this gorgeous yarn from British Columbia! Sweet Georgia Yarns has been around for quite awhile. I remember ordering from her Etsy shop at least ten years ago! The business has grown, and we are so excited to welcome these beauties to Close Knit. We have a shelf full of Tough Love Sock right now, including a range of multis and semi-solids.
This yarn is perfect for long-wearing socks, but it would also make lovely shawls, hats, baby sweaters, even adult sweaters if that's your thing. At 425 yards per lovely skein, you are getting a generous amount of gorgeous. This yarn won't last long, so pop in and find your favorites!

I have a particular crush on Jigglypuff, the white/pink blend at the top, and Overwatch, the grey/white/gold mix below. But they are all gorgeous. Just pop in and have a look.
We love a good speckled yarn, and the Baby Alpaca Hand Dyes are always just perfect. The whole range of hand dyes is really beautiful, but the speckles always get me. I'm in love with all five. The Plymouth website gives you an idea of how they will knit up when you scroll over each colorway, but it seems to me that the skeins we have in stock have more white background showing through than the swatches on the website. I did a little Ravelry search to give you a better idea of what to expect.
The photo above shows 141 (blues and brights) and 145 (pinks and purples).
These two are 142 (blues and blacks) and 144 (browns and oranges and yellows). And this one below is 143 (PINK).
Obviously, they are not going to knit up the same way between dye lots, so you might get some slight variations from what you see on Ravelry. But they are all so beautiful, you are guaranteed a lovely finished product!
Sally always chooses the coolest samples. Her Paper Bag Hat in Spun Right Round Sport Sock is perfection. I did not understand how the hat was going to work based on what she has done so far, but I looked at the Ravelry page and was totally excited to make my own. Go take a look for yourselves. These sweet bouquets of Lochsa DK from Lakes Yarn and Fiber are making my heart pitter patter. We have a fresh batch in the shop right now, and I love playing with the gorgeous color combinations. Every time I look at this yarn, I want to cast on immediately. This cool Siksak Hat is calling to me.
The stitch definition of this yarn is amazing, making it ideal for cabled or textured patterns, too. The FreshMint hat looks really fun and warm, and it's knit with just one skein.

You all know we love the Bumblebirch Heartwood sock yarn, but the worsted weight Forage is amazing, too! I used the Dandelion colorway for my beloved Advanced Beanie. (It wasn't too advanced, I promise.) I added a few repeats to make it fit, since the pattern calls for a heavier yarn.
Forage is ideal for baby sweaters, too. Just one or two skeins would do the trick, depending on the size of the baby. It works up so nicely in textured stitches and cables...very squishy and satisfying. This yarn is soft and cozy and so beautiful!
We are all swooning over this Spun Right Round hand-dyed yarn. The lovely Renee dyes her yarn in Rochester, NY and puts all kinds of love and crazy color inspiration into her work. This gigantic box has since been unpacked and dispersed around the shop, but I love how it looks all together.
We
received the sport weight superwash a few weeks back, and Sally used
one skein of the Secret Handshake colorway to make this amazing little baby cardigan with the perfect
orange buttons.
I am a sucker for fun color names, and this lady has it figured out. Just to name a few: Shock Star, Motion in the Ocean, Newsprint, Dirty Denim, Crybaby, Robots in the Freezer, Almost Kinda Famous. Come on. So enticing.
We have a gorgeous array of little mini-skeins of sock yarn, each with 92 yards of awesome. We also have the big and beautiful 434-yard skeins of sock yarn for those of you looking for the fingering weight.
