Daydreamer Ideas

Have you all seen the newest from super-designer Andrea Mowry? Oh my goodness, the Daydreamer is knit up with a strand of Farmer's Daughter Soka'pii and one strand of Mighty Mo
The Daydreamer (pic borrowed from Rav pattern page)
The Soka'pii is a fingering weight Rambouilett from Wyoming and Montana, and its slightly nubbly and rustic texture is so so cool. Mighty Mo is a gorgeous mohair and silk blend that really adds halo and highlights to the finished knit.
I'm always impressed at how substantial and heavenly a fingering weight and a lace mohair yarn knit up. They make a fabric that is lofty but warm and snuggly all at the same time. Plus, these color combos can't be beat.

I mean...
I might also be coming around on the cropped sweater idea. As a relatively tall girl, I really don't like feeling like things are too short on me, but I have started wearing my one cropped sweater more and more frequently. I can see how something like this lovely Daydreamer might be a perfect choice. Are you all cropped sweater fans? I am seeing them more and more frequently lately.

Bétula

Sally finished up her gorgeous Bétula shawl, and now we all want to make one (or are already making one). I love how the knitted fabric looks like birch bark, especially in this colorway.

Three skeins of Retrosaria Beiroa makes an ample wrap, so Sally is all set for winter! She reported that the yarn blooms like none other, and softens up a great deal. Wool is so cool.

Now, which color do I need? I'm wondering if a dirty pink is the right choice. This one is kind of blowing my mind.

Craggy Tweeeeed!

We have a gorgeous batch of Farmer's Daughter Craggy Tweed on the shelves right now. If you've been itching to cast on a Swoncho, get yourself into the shop to choose your favorites.
Of course, this gorgeous machine washable DK would be great for hats, blankets, shawls, even cozy chunky socks.
If you love this modern, super cool tweed, I would get your hands on it soon. This will go quickly!

Hello to this pretty light-as-a-cloud Cumulus Dappled from Juniper Moon Farm. Loving the hand-painted look of these colorways on this unusual cotton yarn.

Printed Cotton

You know we love a good marl or a speckle or a variegated yarn, so we were pretty intrigued by the idea of a printed yarn. What does that even mean?
According to the folks at Blue Sky Fibers, the Printed Organic Cotton yarn is created using an "ink press and the artisan hand". Not sure what that means, but it sure sounds interesting, and the results are stunning!
I'm thinking this would make a perfect cotton sweatshirt for summer, especially in that sunny yellow. Maybe a cozy Flax or a Shellseeker. A soft baby blanket would be lovely, too, perhaps in a nice range of shades. The Purl Soho Chevron Baby Blanket is forever my favorite, and it would be so cool with 5 or 6 of these. I can't wait to see more projects using this yarn!

Eye Candy

I love these pretty fabrics around the shop. Cute project bag from Retrosaria and some bandanas from Kiriko. These are silky soft with such perfect prints.

These gorgeous pieces below are scraps from vintage fabrics, just right for some patches.
Now that I think about it, I blew out the knees in two pairs of jeans this spring, and these would be so cute for some visible mending.

June Hat!

While the colors for the June hat are not necessarily unusual, the hat itself is pretty great! These cuties are part of Kelbourne Woolens Year of Hats, and I think this is my favorite month yet.
Pic borrowed from Kelbourne Woolens site.
When you buy two skeins, you'll have enough for two hats in opposite colors. Plus, if you've been saving scraps, you can make some cute and colorful pom poms for your graphic new hat.
I think this neon tag kit would be perfect, too. I wonder if that's against the rules...

Amirisu 18

Oh, Amirisu. Issue 18 is full of gorgeous sweaters with so many techniques, textures, and styles.

Do you love colorwork and steeking? Here you go.

How about classic design with a few little details? Yup.

Some graphic colorblocking or stripes? They have that. I can't stop thinking about the striped jacket. So many perfect details.

Texture and lace, too.
And, of course, a hedgehog pom pom.
Something for every knitter!
