Palate Cleanser

I'm sure I've talked about these before, but they are just so pretty!

When I've just finished a big project or when life is just too crazy busy to pay attention to something complicated, I find myself drawn to a palate cleanser with some fabulous yarn. This Mini Fade shawl by Emily uses six shades of Jilly and would definitely fit the bill.
As I stare at the photo of the yarn, I'm putting together a color gradient in my head right now. Life is certainly busy, so why not! It will be such a special treat to choose some favorite colors and cast on.

Eye Candy

Ooooo...look at these pretty Jilly Petities. I think they look like little jewels or candies. These would be a fun addition to a scarf or hat project!

Happy Holiday

We will be closed today to spend time with friends and family. We wish you all a few quiet moments of knitting.
Sally's adorable Polkagris Kerchief in the Jilly Petities is a perfect summer project, don't you think? Just two tiny skeins! We have a lovely selection of colors with more on the way! See you all soon.

Eye Candy

Look at the Dream in Color Jilly! We have Jilly Lace and Jilly Fingering in the shop now, and it's so rich and beautiful. I used one skein of the fingering weight to make one of my most favorite baby sweaters ever, Gry's Hoodie from All You Knit is Love.
We have such an amazing array of shades right now. That rich ruby red is really something. And the golds and greens are great, too. And the pink. And the variegated purples...

Jilly Sweater

Do you all remember that beautiful Dream in Color Jilly I showed you a few weeks ago. Well...I couldn't resist it. This Black & White colorway was just too beautiful. And we needed a shop sample, obviously.
So I cast on for Gry's Hoodie from All You Knit is Love. I have told you about his book before. I love it. I mean...Balloon Pants. I bought it after my babies had outgrown every single design. Everything is simple, sweet, and practical. There are several projects that are perfectly suited for the new knitter, too. It would be a nice gift for a new mom who wants to knit for her little one.
The Jilly is working up nicely on a US5, but I think a US4 might be better for this garter stitch. I think I'll switch to the smaller size to get more squishiness in the knitted fabric.
I'll keep you posted on my progress. In the meantime, come on in and see all the pretty shades we have in this lovely yarn.

Jilly and Jilly Lace

Did you all enjoy the yarn crawl? We had a great time, but we are exhausted. I hope you all found some fabulous yarn, had a blast and made some friends. We have some new yarns at the shop to show you now that the dust has settled a bit.
Say hey to Jilly (above) and Jilly Lace (below) from Dream in Color.
These yarns remind me quite a bit of Tosh Merino Light and Prairie from Madeline Tosh. These are both single ply yarns with rich, saturated colors.
Jilly is a light fingering with 440 yards per skein, and the Jilly Lace is a lace weight, obviously, with 880 yards per skein. I was kind of surprised that the colors weren't exactly the same on both yarns, since we have the same shades in each yarn. These two are both the Gilt colorway, and they aren't quite the same. Both stunning, though.
All of the colors are really gorgeous. How about a few more shots? So pretty.

Stop by and see these new friends at the shop!
