Gallery of Gorgeous

Pop over to our IG page for a whole gallery of gorgeous yarn...

We have glamour shots of Spun Right Round, Sprig and Stone, and Farmer's Daughter.

Many Hands Scarf

Take a look at our knitting pattern for the Yarn Crawl!

Emily created this Many Hands Scarf using the lovely Harrisville Shetland. Such a fun pattern. Cute little details and a wee fringe. Love it!

Yarn Crawl!

The Rose City Yarn Crawl is happening right now! Take a look at what we are doing at Close Knit.

It is different than it has been in years past, but we are still so thrilled to have all of these beautiful yarns and samples in the shop. Mostly we appreciate all of you, even though we are not coming together in large groups this year. Here are some yarn pics for you! Take a look at our Instagram page for more!

Yarn Crawl 2021 - Now Virtual!

YARN CRAWL UPDATE!

The folks in charge of the yarn crawl this year have made the tough decision to move the crawl online for the health and safety of our whole community. Details are still unfolding, and it sounds like shops will generally be open regular hours with limited customer capacity based on each individual shop. Details will be posted here as we work hard to figure out how to continue this tradition in a responsible way!

Don't forget to order you RCYC bag to commemorate this year when we had to get creative to make this work! Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Geek Sweater!

Pic borrowed from Rav pattern page
Loving this beautiful Hachi sweater from designer Kineco Yuki. It's knit up in Daruma Geek, and we have eight cool (and a little weird colors) of this yarn in stock! These are my favorites.

Online Beginning Sweater Class!

Adreinne's next round of her Beginning Sweater Class is all set to start next month. Take a look at the details here and stop in or give us a ring (503-288-4568) to sign up!

Rose City Yarn Crawl

Things are going to look a little different this year, but we are excited to welcome yarn-lovers into our shop for the 2021 Rose City Yarn Crawl. The crawl will take place March 4-14 to give folks more time and space to spread out and keep all of us safe. Take a look at the RCYC page for more details.

If you would like a 2021 RCYC bag, please pre-order yours now. You can choose to pick your up at the local Portland yarn shop of your choice, or you can have it mailed to you in March. We will have a very limited supply available in the shop during the crawl, so the pre-order is your best bet if you love collecting these bags. We can't wait to see you all!

Tuft Soaps and Lotions

Need to wash your woolies? We have the Tuft wool soaps back in the shop! We also have the lanolin-rich hand and body balm in case your skin could use a little love, too.

Schoppel Zauber Perlen

Take a look at this fun Slip Sliden' Cowl designed with the Schoppel Zauber Perlen we have in the shop. The pattern uses up all the yarn in this squishy, textured fabric. The black and white is pretty, but a nice bright one might be just right for our rainy winter.

One Sock Trunk Show

Loving these sweet socks from The Fibre Co's One Sock book. We have the trunk show in the shop for you to check out!

Ready Set Raglan

I have been coveting this book on the internet since I learned of its existence. Ready Set Raglan provides a blueprint to create your own custom sweater. You can choose necklines, textures, colorblocking, and fancy raglan details. This is such a great book if you want a place to begin designing your own sweaters. Take a look at the Ravelry page for more details on the patterns.

Cute Beanie!

Need a nice beanie? One skein of our Galler Prime Alpaca is going to get you THREE of these cute hats. THREE!

New Books!

These new books have us all inspired and ready to cast on! The new Laine (Rav link), 52 Weeks of Socks (Rav link), and Fair Isle Weekend (Rav link) would be great gifts for a knitter you love. Or for yourself. You deserve it. Especially this year.

Cestari Traditional

This is some gorgeous yarn, all made in the USA. The Cestari Traditional is an Aran weight wool from Columbia and Targhee sheep. The colors we get always depend on what the sheep have to offer!

Bulky For the Win!

Do you need some bulky yarns at this point in the year? We got you.

Galler Super-B is in the shop (and online) in these lovely muted tones.

Need some more color? Malabrigo Rasta should meet your needs! This one isn't in the online shop yet, so come on in or give us a call for this one.

Springs and Stone Mer-Yak

I do love a yarn with yak! It adds such a nice dark halo to the finished fabric. This beautiful Mer-Yak is hand-dyed in Washington state. If you love jewel tones, you should really take a look!

Amble

The new fingering weight Amble from The Fibre Co is alpaca and wool and very gorgeous.

There is a guidebook with a basic pattern and a lot of design options as well!

daylights and nightshades

Have you SEEN the daylights yarn from Harrisville Designs? It's the day time cousin to nightshades, which is such a cool yarn, too. Nightshades feature a black base with hints of color, and daylights is the white base with hints of color.

Sally has some lovely shots on the IG page, and you purchase it through our online shop!
