Eye Candy

I know this basket might not look like much to a non-knitter, but those of us who know can recognize all kinds of awesome in here.

FelxiFlips

Every time I see these little buckets of FlexiFlips out of the corner of my eye, I think they are plants. But they are cool needles from Addi! 

These cool tools allow you to knit in the round without having to muss around with double-pointed needles. Instead of using four or five DPNs to knit a small circumference, you can use just three of the FlexiFlips. 

Check out tutorials and videos on the website if you don't believe me. It's a lot like knitting on DPNs but with only two needle changes. And you don't have all the extra needle cable hanging out like you do with two circulars or magic loop. 

It's a great way to try socks if you've been resisting because of the DPNs. We have them in metal and bamboo, so you can choose your favorite and get knitting!

FlexiFlips!

Um...what are these?

Three not exactly double-pointed and not exactly circulars? But you can still knit in a tiny circle with them? My mind is blown!

These FlexiFlips from Addi are designed to work in place of the double-pointed needles we often use for cuffs, socks, sleeves, small hats...anything smaller than the 16" circular. Your yarn stays on two needles as you use the third to knit. This means you only have two needle changes per round. It really works!

Each needle has two different tip styles to meet all of you needle tip needs. Stop in and see for yourself. We will have this little sample out for you to give them a try!

Make Happy with Lykke

I've seen this gorgeous interchangeable set from Lykke Crafts popping up on Instagram and blogs lately, so I was thrilled when Sally decided to carry them in the shop. Look at these beautiful birch needles!

The case that comes with the set is really lovely, too. It's a grey sueded denim with a pocket for all the bits and bobs that you need for interchangeables. This set includes US sizes 4-17, with two 24" cords, two 32" cords, and one 40" cord.

We are also carrying the regular circulars in this beautiful driftwood line. I have not had the pleasure of using these needles yet, but I look forward to hearing what you all think of them. Any of these beauties would make lovely gifts for yourself or your favorite knitter!

Needles and Bags!

Send your people into the shop this week, and we would love to help them choose a gift for you! Let's talk about a few ideas.

We chatted a bit last week about the Della Q bags in the shop. They are fun and so useful and not terribly expensive. You need another project bag, I promise.

This cool zipper pouch has a pattern printed right on it. One side has a chart, and the other side has a suggested stitch count and the abbreviations. We can help you (or your people) select some yarn and needles to tuck in there for the perfect little present.

We also have so many lovely needles sets. These interchangables from Knitter's Pride are always popular. The Dreamz are color-coded wooden needles, some of my absolute favorites.

The crazy cool Marblz plastic ones are always extremely popular, too. The colors are really pretty, and they are very smooth for plastic needles.

There are so many great gifts we can suggest for your favorite fiber enthusiast, even if that is you. Send your people in, and we will make sure you get what you need! If all else fails, a gift certificate is always perfect, right?

New Della Q Bags

We have a really classy supply of Della Q bags and needle cases right now.

Some of the needle cases are made from a very quality pinstriped men's suiting fabric and some are made from a rich natural linen. 

You could be so organized using these! Look at all those labels and pockets.

There are also some cool little hang-on-the-wrist sort of bags made from striped shirting and chambray.

I am constantly wishing I had more places to stash my projects, so these little guys are just perfect. We have some of the bright and beautiful drawstring and tote styles as well.

These bags make perfect little gifts for yourself or your favorite knitter. Or both. Pop in and choose the one you like best!

Marblz Needlz

We just received a fresh batch of needles in the shop. If there is something specific you need, now is the time to grab it. I don't understand how we go through needles so quickly!

In addition to our lovely Knitter's Pride Dreamz and a smattering of Novas, we are now stocking the Knitter's Pride Marblz in US6, 7, and 8 double points and 16" and 24" circulars. These fun plastic needles have just the right amount of grabbiness to keep your knitting moving smoothly, and the points are nice and sharp. 

Plus, they are so much fun! Look at those colors and patterns. Have you tried the Marblz yet? Let us know what you think!

Look at the Flicka'!

We have some fresh bling in the shop for you.

The much anticipated Flicker shipment has arrived from Berroco!  We loved the earth tones last fall, and the soft palette of colors is beautiful as well.  In addition to the natural colors, we currently have yellow, purple, and blue (aka Petipa, Pytor, and Lac, obviously).  The rest of our shipment is on the way this week.

If you have never knit with a chained yarn like this, give it a try.  The final fabric is soft, lofty, and squishy.  Sally has a simple slouchy little hat knit with one skein, and it is light as a feather.  Just ask us for the pattern when you come in for your yarn.

We also have some sparkly handmade resin buttons from M.G. Loden.  The big guys are perfect for a hat, cowl, or a one or two-button cardigan.

These little guys are a little more subtle, but still nice and sparkly.

We have restocked the Elsebeth Lavold Silky Flamme, too.  It's not sparkly, but it sure is shiny and vibrant.  The colors are so deep and pretty, and the texture of the yarn is so interesting.

Nancy used this yarn for her Chloe Cowl, which would make a lovely and relatively quick little knit.  (There was a problem with the pattern, but it's been corrected as of today.  Sorry about that.)  A friend of mine is using the gorgeous orange for the cabled capelet on the cover of knit.wear.

It's going to be stunning.  She promises to share photos when she's done.  I can't wait to see it.

We also have a nice plump supply of circular, straight, and double pointed Dreamz needles from Knitter's Pride.  The colors of the wood are really beautiful, and the cable on the circulars seems pretty flexible.  We have the circular Nova needles, too, the metal offering from Knitter's Pride.

Not sparkly at all, but still very nice, are the Pretty Cheep Bags from Blue Sky Alpacas.  These bags are the prefect size for keeping your projects clean and contained.  At just ten bucks, you might need one for each project.  These make great gifts, too, even for non-knitters.

We just received a shipment from Cascade, too, including 128 Superwash, Magnum, and 220 Superwash Sport.  The unusual and slightly addictive Kauni Effectyarn is back, too.  More on this stuff soon...and perhaps a free pattern this weekend.  See you soon!
