Eye Candy
I'm having a slight obsession with this Bug Jar colorway from Spun Right Round. Grey base with orange and green splatters...so good. I saw some projects knit up on Instagram, and I can't get it our of my head. Search #spunrightround and #spunrightroundyarn for more, but be prepared to become obsessed yourself. We have it in the sport and sock weights, and I want it all.

Plymouth Reserve
Take a look at the pretty Plymouth Reserve Worsted...superwash merino and silk in some really cool colorways. Love that cream and gold. Plymouth has a few pictures of how this knits up, but I can't wait to see more projects pop up on Ravelry.

Boliviana Bulky
We have a lovely new bulky yarn in the shop, Boliviana Bulky from Cascade. This pretty stuff has such a smooth finish for a bulky, and it's nicely plied which means less pilling. This would be great for a bulky sweater jacket or blanket. The colors are rich and vibrant, and we have such a nice range in the shop right now.
Boliviana is labeled a super bulky, knitting up at 2 to 2.5 stitches per inch. In the skein, it doesn't seem quite that heavy to me. It's a pure merino, so perhaps it fills in a bit with knitting and blocking. I guess we will need to work up a sample to see!

Boots and Hats
We have a few cute new samples in the shop right now that I thought you'd like.
Take a look at these awesome Non-Felted Slippers, worked up in Stout and Harrisville Turbine. It's a free pattern, and knits up so quickly on a US9 and bulky yarn. One skein of each yarn is enough for two pairs of slippers. Cozy and quick.
This cute hat caught my eye this week, too. Classic Elite Liberty Wool is so much fun to knit. It's cool to see how the colors will mix and blend together as your piece works up. Each hat takes about a ball and a half of Liberty Wool, so grab three balls, and knit two hats!
We are staying busy stitching away in these chilly months. What are you making?

Eye Candy
It's another Yarn Crawl bag. But look at it! The Bucket Bags are available for pre-order now on the RCYC website. These are the gorgeous Queen Bee Rebecca Pearcy bags that we have had in the shop over the years, and they are stunning. Locally produced and very high quality, I promise. I've been using and abusing a similar bag for almost seven years, and it's still going strong.

Be Still My Heart
These sweet bouquets of Lochsa DK from Lakes Yarn and Fiber are making my heart pitter patter. We have a fresh batch in the shop right now, and I love playing with the gorgeous color combinations. Every time I look at this yarn, I want to cast on immediately. This cool Siksak Hat is calling to me.
The stitch definition of this yarn is amazing, making it ideal for cabled or textured patterns, too. The FreshMint hat looks really fun and warm, and it's knit with just one skein.
Lakes Yarn and Fiber is a small operation based in Northern Idaho, and Ami dyes all of her yarn in her kitchen sink. We love supporting small businesses in our little shop! Come by and take a look at the gorgeous Lochsa DK from Lakes. I hope you'll be inspired, too!

More Socks!
Our next sock session is on the calendar. Join Emily in February for some toe-up socks!
Emily's sock classes are very flexible. All styles of socks and all methods are welcome. The February class focuses on toe-up socks in a worsted weight yarn, but you are welcome to try top-down as well. Emily will teach you how to knit socks with double pointed needles, two circulars, or using the magic loop method. So many choices! Give us a call or stop by the shop to sign up for the February session.
It's chilly out there today, and there are grumblings about more snow. You will want warm socks!
