Eye Candy

Loving this pretty pile of marled Cascade 220. The 220 Wave is a superwash worsted yarn that would be great for blankets, sweaters, gloves, and hats. The shades slowly fade over the course of the skein, so it will knit up into something beautiful!

New Shibui

The two new yarns from Shibui Knits are really cool! Nest is a lovely wool alpaca blend with a modern marled look. All of the shades work up into a really cool fabric, but I love the black and white one the best. I have been loving the mid-weight DK yarns lately, and this one is a keeper.

Take a peek at this beautiful Sindi cowl worked up with Nest and Silk Cloud. What a luxury!

We also have Tweed Silk Cloud in the shop, and it is so unusual. It's like a more rustic version of the Silk Cloud that has been around for awhile. Just like the original, this yarn looks great on its own or paired with other yarns.

If you are a fan of the luxurious Shibui shades and textures, you will want to stop in and see these new yarns.

Illustrious Naturals

With a name like Illustrious Naturals, it has to be good. This blend of Falkland wool and British alpaca is soft and buttery, and the natural shades are rich and so sheepy.

This gorgeous stuff comes from a lovely British company called West Yorkshire Spinners, which has a long tradition of producing beautiful yarns from British wools.

We now have a few of their yarns in the shop, but I wanted you to all see this gorgeous hat that we have knit up in the Illustrious Naturals.

I believe this is the Pewter colorway, which is the only one with this kind of slow color fade that is expected from a marled yarn. The others will knit up as solid natural shades. Pop in and check out this beautiful new yarn! Stay tuned for more yarns from West Yorkshire Spinners...

Eye Candy

You know how much I love a good marled yarn! Tahki Vermont is just the thing for all of your cozy sock monkey dreams. (Check out these awesome fingerless mitts.) It's a 50/50 alpaca/Merino blend, and the natural shades are all beautiful. This one won't last long, friends!

Sometimes...

Sometimes, it's the simplest things.  Sometimes, it just takes the right color combination.  Sometimes, you just want to knit a scarf.

The whole thing came together for Sally recently, and this perfectly simple and simply perfect scarf is the result.  Looking for a nice easy project to keep her fingers busy during Yarn Crawl planning meetings (yes, it's okay to knit during those), she cast on for the Churchmouse Pressed Rib Muffler.

There is just something about the rustic, marled grey and the rich, sunny gold, right?  It's just three skeins of Cascade 220, one of the solid and two of the marled.

We just restocked the 220, and we have all of the marled colorways on the shelves.  

The hardest part will be choosing the solid for the ends.

I was thinking that this scarf would be lovely with Cascade Eco Alpaca as well.  We have several marled colorways and coordinating solids for a more subtle look.  These are some of my favorites, but they really do all go together so nicely.  This yarn is buttery soft, too...sure to please anyone.

I like the quiet combo of the silver shades here.

The chocolate really plays up the brown strand running through the interesting grey/blue/brown marled yarn.

The charcoal grey looks great with the more graphic marled yarn in this color combo, too.
