Yarn Crawl!

Join us this weekend for the second annual Portland Yarn Crawl!
What is the Portland Yarn Crawl, you ask? It's your chance to win great stuff and enjoy a weekend of yarn shopping. I know, that sounds pretty terrible. I assure you, it's not that bad.

All of the yarn shops in the Portland area are participating, and you can find a full list at the yarn crawl site. You will be asked to sign in at each shop. When you sign in, you'll receive a raffle ticket for this awesome basket full of goodies. (I had trouble not adopting that Classic Elite Firefly right there on the top. Love that stuff.) The more stores you visit, the more chances you have to win a basket.

There will be a scavenger hunt, as well, should you choose to play along. Since everyone loves a cowl, each shop will be highlighting a cowl design. Your job is to find the numbered cowl at our shop and write down our number. If you find the cowl at each shop, email your list of shop names and their corresponding numbers to the yarn crawl people by Monday for a chance to win yet another fabulous prize from Spud & Chloe. I don't know exactly what the prize is, but it just can't be bad.

If you aren't interested in all of that work, you can still enjoy a 10% discount on your entire purchase at Close Knit on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday March 4-6, 2011. And, because we appreciate you all so much, Sally is going to raffle off three gift bags, each with a $50 value.

We currently have a trunk show from The Fibre Company, including what may be the sweetest baby sweater ever, Lucille. I've written about them before, so stop by to see the loveliness in person.

Finally, Portland dyer Alpha B will have her yarns available at Close Knit this weekend. Her Etsy shop is currently on hiatus, but you can check out some of her sold items, her Ravelry page, and her Ravelry group. Very pretty stuff in the lace to fingering range. If you are a sock or lace knitter, you might just fall in love.

Okay, you all go out and sell off some stuff to make room for more yarn. See you this weekend.
