There is Shibui in the sale bin, y'all! They are discontinuing the gorgeous Merino Alpaca, and it's 40% off at the shop until it's gone. These colors are pure Shibui: vibrant, saturated, and so cool. Summer Sale Section

As we welcome all sorts of fabulous new yarns into the shop, we are running out of space in our little nooks and crannies. We have a whole section of books and patterns on sale, as well as an ever-changing tower of sale yarns. 

I'm not sure if we will have a big summer sale this year, but these baskets will be kept full of goodies marked way down for your fibery enjoyment!

Rowan Sale!

Rowan yarns are becoming increasingly difficult to find these days, but we have worked to keep a nice stock of the basic on our shelves. As part of this week's Retail Happy Hour, we are offering 10% off all Rowan yarns.

We have some stunning shades of Kidsilk Haze, including the Stripe, Trio, and Eclipse lines.

Softknit Cotton is a great choice for summer, and the pattern support for this yarn is really nice.

Little Stuff and Big Stuff (Summertime Sale)

Does it feel like summer is flying by?  These hot days are a little much for me, so I have been knitting small things for small people.  Baby bonnets, to be exact.  They are small enough that they don't need to rest in my lap; they require minimal thought; and they seem to fly off the needles, especially after knitting several.

I have been using the Modern Baby Bonnet pattern from Vintage Knits for Modern Babies.  We have so many lovely bonnet patterns at the shop, books and single patterns, too.  I have particularly enjoyed playing with these colors for a certain newly-arrived matched set of humans, and I have a pure white one going now.  I just keep casting on and knitting another.

But this heat will not last, and then it will be time for the big stuff.  Let's go as big as possible, shall we?  Our weekly sale starting August 4 will be Loopy Mango.  If you have been waiting to get your hands on this, now is the time.

The big skeins are normally $198, so they are only $169 on sale.  One of these huge skeins makes a whole blanket in just a few hours.  Talk about a last minute gift that will make a huge impression. 

The 13 oz little balls will be $67 on sale, and one of these makes the fabulous cowl sample we have in the shop.

We have lots of the the US50 needles in the shop, and Loopy Mango offers their patterns for free on their website.

In just a few short months, I'm sure will be wishing for a little bit of this heat to warm us up.  I suppose I will have to make due with a cozy blanket!

Summertime Sale: More Cotton Goodies

Between our Debbie Bliss event and the fall orders that Sally is placing, we need to make some room.  Our little shop cannot contain all of the good stuff coming in, and Jenni (our mistress of space management) is out on maternity leave.  Time for more sales, friends.

Since we are still very much in the middle of summer, we are offering a discount on some select cotton yarns again this week.  Starting July 28, we are offering 15% off Tahki Cotton Classic, Cascade Ultra Pima and Ultra Pima Fine, and Plymouth Cleo DK.

We have recently plumped up our selection of Cotton Classic with some lovely fresh colors.  This yarn is truly a classic choice for cottons.  Textured stitches really pop with this yarn, and the finished fabric has such a nice shine and soft finish.

Just two skeins of Cotton Classic and some basic crochet skills will get you a Grocery Tote, free on Purl Bee.

Cascade always does a nice job, and their Ultra Pimas are no exception.  I used the Fine weight for my green Bristol.  I am so impressed with the richness of the colors of these yarns.  We have a sample of Elisa's Nest Tote in the shop...just one skein of Ultra Pima.

Plymouth Cleo DK is another lovely cotton selection.  Nice colors, soft texture, good stuff.  I am searching for a reason to pair that bright orange with the greys.

Summertime Sale: Rowan

Not many shops have the selection of Rowan that we have at Close Knit.  (Sally knows what she's doing.)  If you knit with Rowan, there's a good chance you love it.  Modern colors, high quality, interesting fiber blends...what's not to love?  We want to share the love with you, so our next Summertime Sale is all Rowan.

Summertime Sale: Deep Discount Table

Are you a long-time Close Knitter?  Have you been missing the huge sales that used to happen once or twice a year?  That big white table piled high with baskets full of yarn?  Well this is your week.  

We have been pulling out the yarns that need to move out of the shop to make room for the fall goodies.  We have some yarns in sweater quantities, some odd balls, some discontinued stuff...but it's all good.  Starting June 23, we will have a deep discount table (50% off) going until close on Sunday, June 29.  There will be all kinds of good stuff.  Come see what we have on the table, and help us make room for the new yarns on the way!

The Next Summertime Sale and Other Important Information

So many of you took advantage of our cotton sale last week!  It was great to see all of your faces.  I hope you scored some good stuff.  What's next, you ask?

Starting tomorrow, June 16, Cascade 220 will be 15% off.  This is just for the good old worsted weight 220 in the white cabinet by the front, and it will only be for what we have in stock right now, no special orders.  This sale will be on until the end of the day Sunday, June 22.  This is such a great staple yarn.  Hats, gloves, sweaters, blankets, scarves, felted items...220 is a go-to at Close Knit.

Prices on Cascade yarns will be going up a smidge in the fall, and it looks like 220 will be at $9 per skein when we receive our fall shipments.  Next week, we are keeping it at $8 per skein AND offering the 15% discount, so just $6.80 for a skein!  That's a screaming deal on some high quality yarn.

Now that summer is (theoretically) upon us, we are going to be changing our hours a bit.  We will be opening up at 11 Monday through Saturday, and changing our hours to 12-5 on Sunday.  Open Knit Night is still happening on Wednesday evenings from 6 until 9PM.  We will be closed on July 4, as usual.
